The gender gap remains a significant challenge in the disability care and support sector, affecting both formal and informal care work. Addressing it requires a gender-transformative approach that tackles the root causes of inequality while promoting equal opportunities, fair working conditions and a better work-life balance for all carers. Through training and awareness-raising initiatives, the EQUAL-CARE project aims to inform and empower workers, employers, managers, HR professionals, and informal carers alike.
